Despite the consequences, viruses continue to be created and released. Fortunately, there are ways to remove these viruses from your computer.

Click on "Start," and then click "All Programs."

Click on "Available Updates," and the click "OK." Updates are additions to software provided by Microsoft that help to prevent and fix problems.

Open your antivirus program and run a scan. If you do not have an antivirus program, consider downloading a free antivirus program from the Internet. Alternatively, consider purchasing an antivirus program. The two most popular antivirus programs, as of 2009, are McAfee and Symantec.
